Thankful For...

Wow, 29 years old and I'm finally posting my first message on our blog without my husband's help!  Brent will be so proud of me.  As we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday, I feel reflective of the life changing events that have taken place for our family over the past few months.  We said goodbye to wonderful friends and a comfortable home in Lubbock, TX when Brent finished law school.  Brent studied hard through the summer to take the Arizona Bar exam, and this October we found out the great news that he passed!  And, the icing on top was finding out in the weeks to follow that all of our friends that took a bar exam this summer also passed.  What a relief!  With the help of parents and support of extended family, we moved across the country to a suburb of Washington D.C. for one more year of school for Brent.  Then, on November 2, Danielle got a little sister, Gwen Elizabeth.
We have had lots of challenges these past few months, but the blessings have been grand.  I am grateful Brent is excited about tax law, am thrilled to be at home with Danielle to teach and lover her, and am just so touched and overcome with love to hold little Gwen in my arms and think about where she came from and that she chose us.  As we move further away from our extended family I am also often reminded of how much we enjoy their friendship, and how much we also need their love and support.  Have a wonderful reflective Thanksgiving!

"Danielle's Daily Drop of Cuteness":  While talking to Brent and I this morning in the living room, in reference to my being willing to do Danielle's hair for church so Brent wouldn't have to, Danielle exclaimed, "Mom, you are the best!".  Like any good mother, I gave her a kiss and hold her she could have ANYTHING she wanted.  Danielle perked-up proudly and said without missing a beat, "I want vegetables!".  Wow, that was a surprise.  I guess her Uncle Paul must be her hero, as she is well aware of what his line of work is!
